The short version
Your subscription buys your business the right to use everything in the kit, for your business. It doesn't buy the content itself, and it doesn't cover other businesses, including your clients if you're a consultant, or other branches if you're part of a franchise. That's essentially it. The detail follows.
Who this covers
The Culture Kit: DEI Edition is sold to businesses, for use inside a business. By subscribing you're confirming you're buying it for your business rather than as a private individual.
Your licence covers one business, the one named at purchase. Anyone working in that business, employees, directors, contractors and temporary staff, can use the content as part of their work for that business. It can't be used for, or on behalf of, any other business.
We ask for your business name at checkout because every file is personalised with it. If you trade under your own name, that's absolutely fine, just give us the name you trade under.
Consultants, franchises and groups
One rule sits behind all of this: using the kit with your own team is what a subscription covers, and using it with clients is the partner route.
You're an HR consultant, HR franchisee, people adviser or agency. Your subscription covers your own team. It doesn't cover the work you do for clients. There's a partner route built for exactly that, and it works properly for both sides. Email hello@sideranorth.co.uk and we'll set it up.
You're a franchisee of a business that isn't HR or people related. Your subscription covers the business named at purchase, so your own branch and your own team. Other franchisees each need their own.
You're a franchisor, or you run a group of companies. If you'd like the kit across a network or group, that's a group arrangement rather than a stack of separate subscriptions. Email hello@sideranorth.co.uk and we'll put something sensible together.
What you can do
- Use it inside your business: use all content with your team, share it on Slack, Teams or email, print it, display it, and use it in meetings and internal communications.
- Publish it under your own name: posts created with the LinkedIn Post Builder, and other social content from the kit, are yours to publish under your own business name.
- Adapt it to your voice: tweak wording so messages sound like you. That's encouraged.
- Keep using it all year: use everything for as long as your subscription is active.
What you can't do
- Pass it on: don't forward, share, sell, give away or publish the kit's files outside your business, in whole or in part.
- Use it for clients: if you're a consultant, HR provider, agency or similar, this licence doesn't cover using the content in services or deliverables for your clients. A partner route exists for exactly that, just ask.
- Pass on your links: your download link and your LinkedIn Post Builder link are personal to your business and traceable to it. Don't forward them, share them or publish them anywhere.
- Claim it as yours: don't present the kit's content as your own work, and don't remove or obscure our name, the copyright line or the personalisation on any file.
- Build a rival with it: don't use the kit's content, in whole or in part, to create, develop or supply a product or service that competes with it.
Ownership
The Culture Kit: DEI Edition, including its text, infographics, designs and the LinkedIn Post Builder, is the copyright of Sidera North. The name, branding and look of The Culture Kit: DEI Edition belong to us too. Your subscription is a licence to use it, not a transfer of ownership.
Every file is personalised with your business name at purchase, and your links are issued to your business too, so each copy is traceable to the business it was sold to. We've built this on trust, and we'd far rather spend our time making the kit even better than keeping an eye on it.
Other people's names and marks. Awareness days, campaigns and charities own their own names, logos and branding, and some of them set rules about how they can be used, particularly by businesses. We reference them, we don't own them, and our licence to you doesn't extend to them. If you're planning to use a campaign's name, logo or hashtag in your own marketing, it's worth a quick look at that campaign's own guidance first. Most are welcoming, a few have conditions.
Payment, renewal and refunds
Subscriptions are billed annually and run the calendar year, January to December. Renewal is automatic on 1st December each year for the year ahead, and we email a reminder before every renewal. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time by emailing hello@sideranorth.co.uk. One email is all it takes.
The Culture Kit: DEI Edition is a digital product, and your current year's content is delivered in full at the point of purchase, so purchases are non-refundable. This doesn't affect your statutory rights if something is faulty. If a file doesn't arrive or won't open, email us and we'll resend it.
Joining part way through a year. If you join during our founding year, your first payment covers the rest of this year and all of next, and you won't be charged again until 1st December 2027. From 2027 onwards, a first payment covers only the months left until the next 1st December, so you're never paying for time you haven't had.
Your subscription
While your subscription is active you receive the full kit for the current year, and the refreshed kit each new year, delivered in late December once every awareness date has been verified with its organiser. If you cancel, access to future content ends, though anything already shared with your team internally can stay where it is. We won't ask you to un-send an email.
If we change these terms
We update these terms from time to time. Any changes apply from your next renewal, never part way through a year you've already paid for, and we'll flag anything significant in your renewal reminder. The version you agreed to at purchase is the one that covers your current subscription year.
A few sensible caveats
The kit is carefully researched, but it's culture and communication content. It isn't legal advice, and it isn't HR advice on your particular situation. Everything in it is general and educational, written without knowing your business, your people or the circumstances you're dealing with. For a specific employment, discrimination or grievance question, speak to a solicitor, a qualified HR adviser who knows your business, or ACAS.
What the kit can and can't do. The kit is built to help you run better conversations and mark the year thoughtfully. It doesn't make your business compliant with the Equality Act or any other law, it doesn't prevent a complaint, a grievance or a tribunal claim, and it can't guarantee a particular result for your culture, your retention or your team. Where we mention research from organisations like Gallup or BetterUp, we're showing that culture matters in general, not promising the kit will produce those numbers in your business.
You decide what goes out. The LinkedIn Post Builder writes you a draft. Please read it before you post it, check anything it says about your own business, and check any figure still stands if you're quoting one. Once it goes out under your business name it's your post, and you're responsible for it. That's not us stepping back, it's simply that you know your audience and your business, and we don't.
Every figure in the kit is taken from a named UK source and is correct as at the date of that year's pack. Sources are printed alongside the figures so you can check them or cite them if anyone asks. Figures do move, which is why the kit is refreshed and re-verified every year.
The legal bits
We're not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, reputational loss, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the content. Our total liability to you, for everything arising out of or in connection with these terms, is limited to the greater of the fees you've paid us for your current subscription year and £149. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute.
Questions about any of this? Just email us: hello@sideranorth.co.uk. A human will reply.
